These instructions apply if you have a personal Gmail Account.

Step 1: Add your @greens addresses to your Gmail account

Go to: https://myaccount.google.com/u/2/alternateemail and login using your Gmail address.

Select option ADD OTHER EMAIL and add your Green email addresses. The Google system will send you an email at each address to confirm. You can do this for several addresses e.g. an Officeholder address and Personal alias. If you see “This setting can't be changed for your account.” you have a G Suite / Google Apps account and not a personal Gmail account. Unless you're a member of Party Office staff you'll need to create a regular Gmail account if you want to be able to send mail using an @greens.org.nz address.

Step 2: Setup to send mail

In your Gmail account go to Settings -> Accounts and Import at: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/account

Select option Add another email address. Click that to get to the next screen. (If you set up sending as an @greens.org.nz address using our old mail server, remove the old setup first.)

Type in your @greens.org.nz address and click Next Step. You should see a screen like:

Choose the option to Send through Gmail and click Next Step.

Click Send Verification.

Check your email for the code. Add the code and click Verify.

The email with the code will also contain a link to confirm your new email.  Click the link and select Confirm

You should be able to send mail using your @greens.org.nz address. You can set this as your default on the Settings page or you have a choice when you Compose a new message.

Step 3- Set Up Your Gmail Account to Use IMAP (optional)

If you only use the Gmail web interface, skip these steps. If you use an mail client like Outlook or Thunderbird to handle your mail you will need to setup your Gmail account to use IMAP.

Sign in to your Gmail account and go to Mail->Settings screen.

Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Scroll down to the IMAP Access section and select Enable IMAP.

Click Save Changes at the bottom of the screen.
